Campobello Town Council
MINUTES
January 5, 2009
The regular monthly meeting of the Campobello Town Council was held on January 5, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. in
the fire department training room. Those present were Mayor Ray Copeland and council members Willie
Matthews, Don Cohenour, Mel Puckett, and Lee Neves.
Willie Matthews made a motion to accept the December 1, 2008 minutes as written. Seconded by Lee
Neves the minutes were unanimously approved. Don Cohenour made a motion to accept the emergency
meeting minutes of December 19, 2008 as written. Seconded by Lee Neves the motion was unanimously
approved.
Police Chief Chad McNeill reported that the police department was involved with a total of 26 events during
the month of December which is called through the Spartanburg County 911 system. He also advised that
Costco has an 8 head camera system available for $700.00 which would greatly improve the capabilities to
record at various places within the building to keep security at a high level. After a brief discussion Mel
Puckett made a motion to purchase the camera system for the police department and town hall. Seconded
by Don Cohenour the motion was unanimously approved.
Fire Chief Eddie McNeill reported that the fire department responded to a total of 20 calls during the month
of December. He also stated that the metal roof has been completed and the entire building now has a
metal roof. With the water problems corrected they can now begin to replace the water damaged ceiling
tiles.
Chad McNeill advised that the County MASC meeting for January will be on the 22nd and that the 800
system will be the topic. It was agreed that Mel Puckett and Don Cohenour will attend along with Chief
McNeill. Willie Matthews and Lee Neves will be available as alternates in the case of any changes.
With no other business presented Willie Matthews made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Don Cohenour
the meeting adjourned at 7:15 P.M.
